Rice Boy (2006–2008) is Evan Dahm’s complete surreal fantasy epic, the first of his Overside comics. Rice Boy, a small and simple creature, is pulled out of his quiet life by The One Electronic, an immortal machine man who suspects he may be the Fulfiller of an ancient prophecy, and sets off across the strange, colourful lands of Overside. A wistful, funny and very imaginative adventure, all 439 pages in five books, in English. Dahm went on to win the Ignatz Award (Vattu, 2014) and the Reuben Award (2023), and Rice Boy is in print from Iron Circus Comics. Age 13+: fantasy violence and some dark moments.
