The iconic gentleman thief Lupin III is back in a new comic titled Lupin III – La Merveille. Created by Japanese mangaka Monkey Punch in 1967, the character is the grandson of Arsène Lupin. This new project, published by Kana, is a respectful homage written by Kid Toussaint and illustrated by José Luis Munuera. The story follows Lupin and his companions, Jigen and Goemon, as they travel globally to find a treasure that his grandfather never discovered. While the original manga series faced naming restrictions outside Japan due to copyright, the character is now free to be used globally. This standalone adventure features the classic cast, including Inspector Zenigata and Fujiko Mine. Readers can choose between a standard edition or a collector's version featuring exclusive sketches and notes. Are you excited to see this classic manga character reimagined by European creators?
