Batman #14 Review: An Engaging Entry in the Bad Seeds Crossover
Batman #14 serves as a compelling installment in the Bad Seeds event, balancing high-stakes action with intimate character moments. The issue successfully functions as both a crucial chapter in the crossover and an enjoyable standalone story.
Writer Matt Fraction highlights Batman's humanity through his interactions with Verity Pennyworth and a strategic alliance with Mister Freeze. Matteo Scalera provides dynamic, classic-style artwork that is perfectly complemented by Tomeu Morey's vibrant color palette. The narrative effectively manages the tension of the Green's takeover of Gotham while maintaining a focus on personal relationships. It is a standout issue that proves event tie-ins can be both narratively significant and highly accessible.
