Carlos Edgard Herrero, a prominent figure in the Brazilian Disney comics scene, has passed away at the age of 82. He was renowned for his extensive work on characters like Donald Duck and for co-creating the superhero persona Paper Bat.

Born in 1944, Herrero produced approximately 4,000 pages of Disney comics over a career spanning nearly six decades. He was the first Brazilian artist to have his work featuring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck published internationally, including in Italy. In 1973, he collaborated with writer Ivan Saidenberg to create Paper Bat, a parodic superhero version of Fethry Duck. He continued to illustrate Disney characters well beyond the conclusion of Editora Abril's national production in 2018.
