Exclusive Excerpt: THE ARTIST – THE PORTFOLIO EDITION by Anna Haifisch
Breakdown Press is releasing a new omnibus edition of Anna Haifisch's The Artist, which combines previous graphic novels with new material. This collection satirizes the complexities and absurdities of the fine art world.
The Portfolio Edition gathers the original 2016 graphic novel, its sequel, and the new Bird Opera strips into one volume. Through a self-deprecating lens, the comic explores the anxieties and challenges faced by a young artist navigating the industry. Haifisch draws from her own professional experiences in Germany and the United States to create this insightful comedy. The work highlights the often confusing and exclusive nature of the art scene.
