M.A.S.K. #5 Review: A Father-Son Duality
The fifth issue of the M.A.S.K. series explores the complex relationship between Matt Trakker and his son, Scott, as they face threats from V.E.N.O.M. This installment introduces a reimagined, powerful version of T-Bob that fits seamlessly into the Energon Universe.
Dan Watters and Pye Parr focus on the intellectual similarities and differences between the Trakkers while Scott navigates danger. The issue features impressive action sequences and a significant visual upgrade for the robot bodyguard T-Bob. Pierluigi Casalanguida’s vibrant coloring effectively distinguishes the forest settings from the dark, post-battle streets of New Orleans. Overall, the issue successfully updates classic elements for a modern audience.
