Oni Press resurrects Dr. Syn for new series from Michael E. Uslan and Steven S. DeKnight
Oni Press is launching a new four-issue series featuring the classic vigilante Dr. Syn, written by Michael E. Uslan and Steven S. DeKnight. The story reimagines the character as he is exiled to the American colonies on the eve of the Revolutionary War.
The series, illustrated by Sebastián Cabrol, follows the titular character as he joins forces with fellow prisoners to spark a rebellion against the British Empire. Described as a blend of historical action and modern political resonance, the comic serves as a 21st-century update to Russell Thorndike's original pulp hero. The first issue is scheduled for release in January 2027. Creators will discuss the project during an upcoming panel at New York Comic Con 2026.
