Sikkim Stories
Sikkim Stories is a collaborative graphic novel by Simon Lamouret and Pema Wangchuk Dorjee that explores the lives of three individuals in the Himalayan region. The work highlights the complex socio-political and environmental challenges facing the area through a choral narrative.
The book follows a yak herder, a botanist, and a soldier whose paths briefly cross in the Sikkim region. Through Lamouret's delicate artistic style and Dorjee's local journalistic insight, the story addresses themes of militarization, tradition, and environmental change. It serves as an immersive look at a unique territory caught between India and China. The graphic novel was published by Sarbacane in September 2026.
