The Interpretant
Lily Thu Fierro and Generoso Fierro present a contemplative comic exploring themes of isolation, communication, and the intersection of science and spirituality. The narrative follows a nun named Juliana and a researcher who share a desolate, desert-like environment.

The story utilizes a spare, atmospheric narrative to examine the connection between two individuals living in voluntary exile. Generoso Fierro’s detailed illustrations use earthy textures and disorienting panel compositions to mirror the protagonist's internal and external landscapes. The work draws on cognitive science to challenge the reader's perception of language and the unnameable mysteries of nature. It is a self-published project that encourages deep reflection rather than traditional storytelling.
