Zack Snyder expresses interest in adapting The Dark Knight Returns
Director Zack Snyder is actively campaigning to adapt Frank Miller's iconic graphic novel, The Dark Knight Returns, into a feature film. Despite current DC Studios leadership focusing on other Batman projects, Snyder remains hopeful about his vision for the material.
Snyder views the potential adaptation as a fitting conclusion to the superhero movie cycle, drawing parallels to his previous work on Watchmen. While DC Studios is currently developing multiple Batman projects under James Gunn and Peter Safran, Snyder continues to advocate for his project. The director previously successfully lobbied for the release of his version of Justice League, proving his ability to mobilize fan support. Future corporate changes at Warner Bros. Discovery have led to speculation about a possible return for the filmmaker to the DC franchise.
