The Swedish Comics Association, Seriefrämjandet, is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Urhunden prize in 2027. This prestigious award recognizes the best original Swedish and translated comic books from the previous year. To mark this milestone and the 150th anniversary of creator Oskar Andersson, two new categories are being introduced. The Unghunden prize will honor the best comic book for children and young adults up to age 16. Additionally, a new Urhunden category will celebrate the best classic comic book re-release, specifically for works unavailable in Swedish for at least 25 years. An independent jury will select the winners across all categories. Publishers interested in submitting their works for consideration must complete their entries by January 15, 2027.
