Comiket, also known as Comic Market, is a major semiannual fan convention held in Tokyo, Japan. Taking place at Tokyo Big Sight, this not-for-profit event focuses on the sale of doujin, which are self-published works like comics, novels, and games. Inaugurated in 1975, the convention has grown significantly, attracting hundreds of thousands of attendees to its Summer and Winter editions. Approximately 35,000 circles participate in each event to share their creative projects. Beyond the marketplace, the convention features corporate booths and serves as a popular destination for cosplay enthusiasts. The organizers also manage an extensive archive of the works sold and coordinate charitable activities like blood drives. With such a massive variety of self-published media available, what genre of doujinshi would you be most excited to browse at a convention like this?
