Editora JBC, also referred to as JBC, is a prominent publisher based in São Paulo that specializes in Japanese-related content for the Brazilian market. Originally founded in Tokyo in 1992 to provide Portuguese newspapers for Brazilians living in Japan, the company eventually expanded its operations to Brazil. Since entering the manga industry in 2001 with the release of Samurai X, the firm has grown to become the second-largest manga publisher in the country. Beyond publishing, the company has supported the annual World Cosplay Summit since 2006 by hosting the Brazilian preliminary rounds. Operating under the motto that manga is their language, the publisher focuses exclusively on distributing its Portuguese-language editions within Brazil.
