Cyrille Pomès on reopening Hellboy in Hell with Mike Mignola
Mike Mignola is returning to the world of Hellboy in Hell for a new two-issue story titled Nothing But Blood. The project features artwork and lettering by French cartoonist Cyrille Pomès and colors by Dave Stewart.
The collaboration began after Mignola discovered Pomès' work online and the two met in Los Angeles. Set after the fall of Pandemonium, the story follows Hellboy as he encounters a woman pursued by creatures during an uprising. Pomès utilized photography and gothic imagery to establish a unique visual identity for the underworld while maintaining consistency with Mignola's original vision. The series marks a significant milestone for Pomès, who cites Mignola as a major influence from his teenage years.
