George Lucas Opens the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles
The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art has officially opened in Los Angeles, showcasing George Lucas's extensive collection of cinema, comic, and illustration history. The institution aims to elevate narrative art by highlighting the storytelling power of visual media.

Located in Exposition Park, the museum features over 1,300 works from a vast collection of 40,000 items, including original comic strips, film archives, and illustrations. The project, designed by architect Ma Yansong, was entirely self-funded by George Lucas and his wife, Mellody Hobson. It serves as a permanent home for works by legendary creators like Jack Kirby, Moebius, and Alex Raymond. Despite facing years of development challenges and location changes, the museum now stands as a major cultural hub for narrative-driven art.
