Jonathan Hickman Nearly Left Marvel Before Midnight X-Men
Writer Jonathan Hickman revealed he considered leaving Marvel after his contract expired before committing to his current Midnight X-Men project. He has since shifted his creative philosophy to focus exclusively on stories he is personally passionate about.
Hickman stated that he only signed a new deal with Marvel because it allowed him to pursue specific creative ideas he truly wanted to execute. After a period of prioritizing collaborative team efforts, he is now committed to writing only the projects that excite him. He noted that he is intentionally avoiding other commitments to ensure his full energy remains on the Midnight X-Men series. Moving forward, Hickman plans to prioritize his own creative vision over company-driven initiatives.
