The Demon #1 Review: A Compelling Supernatural Debut
James Harren brings a fresh perspective to the DC Universe with his new series, The Demon. The story focuses on Jason Blood as he navigates a Gotham City infested with unique and terrifying monsters.
Harren effectively keeps Etrigan as a restrained voice in Blood's head, allowing the human lead to shine as a capable hero. The issue features imaginative creature designs and hints at a deep, ancient mythology involving Merlin. While the lore can be complex for new readers, the mystery and visual storytelling make for an engaging start. The cliffhanger successfully builds anticipation for the future of both characters.
