The Toxic Avenger vs. the Noxious Offender #1 Review
The debut issue of AHOY Comics' latest series balances mutant action with a poignant, grounded exploration of parenthood. Writer Matt Bors successfully blends his signature social commentary with the emotional anxieties of Toxie and Yvonne as they prepare for their new arrival.
The story effectively integrates the franchise's history while introducing new stakes through the return of Toxie's father and the arrival of the nihilistic Noxious Offender. While the visual design of the antagonist could be more distinct, the narrative depth regarding family trauma and self-doubt is compelling. It serves as a sharp, sensitive expansion of the Toxic Avenger universe that remains accessible to new readers. The comic manages to be both a charming character study and a high-stakes adventure.
