Created by cartoonist Quino in 1963, the Argentine comic strip Mafalda features a six-year-old girl who reflects the concerns of the middle class and progressive youth. Originally conceived as a potential advertising project, the strip debuted in the magazine Primera Plana in 1964. Over the years, the series introduced a diverse group of children who countered Mafalda's personality. Although the strip officially ended in 1973, it gained immense popularity across Latin America, Europe, and Asia, eventually being translated into around twenty languages. Quino later used the character to support human rights initiatives. Today, the legacy of this masterful satire continues through various book collections, animated series, and even public statues in cities like Buenos Aires and Oviedo. Which of Mafalda's friends do you find most relatable in their interactions with her?
